Congratulations to Coach Mel Smyth.   Coach Mel just returned from Calgary where she was lead assistant coach with Team Ontario.   The team trained for a week and a half at Nipissing University in North Bay before flying out to Calgary to compete in the Canada Cup.  This year marks her second year as the lead assistant coach.  This opportunity has not only enriched Mel's coaching repertoire but also brought immense pride to our community.

The OVA Team Ontario program is renowned for its mission to produce athletes and coaches who will represent Canada on international stages and reach the Olympic podium. They strive to create a system of best practices for the entire OVA community, and Mel Smyth embodies this mission perfectly. Her dedication to identifying and developing elite athletes to compete with provincial and national teams aligns seamlessly with the program's goals.
