As the health and safety of our coaches, athletes and families is our top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic, tryouts will look different whether your a brand new player interested in the club or a returning player.   There are many rules/protocols that the club and all participants must adhere to.   In addition, pre-registration is new this year.  For any questions please don't hesitate to  

Registration:  

1. All individuals must have registered online with the Ballhawks for the tryouts prior to participating in any club tryout or training. To register, go to our

2. All individuals must complete the OVA Covid-19 Waiver and email to chathamballhawks@gmail.com prior to participating in any club tryout or

training.   Please click here for

3. For new players to the Ballhawks and the OVA, you must also complete the following Individual Registration Form prior to participation.  This form is

needed as the OVA has extended the 2019-20 membership for all returning athletes until the new MRS system from OVA is released.  Please note there

is no cost in sending in this form to the club.  This form                                                                                       needs to be sent, along with the

OVA Covid-19 Waiver to chathamballhawks@gmail.com

4. Athletes will receive a confirmation email from the club for tryout attendance once the club registration, OVA waiver, and OVA registration form (if

applicable) are confirmed as completed 24 hours prior to first tryout start time.

No athlete will be allowed to show up ‘on the day’ without confirmed on-line registration.

What to Expect at Tryouts

• Controlled one-way entries and exits with Hand Sanitization stations at entrance and exit to the building.  Check-in booth/table at entry to facility.

• Athletes are to arrive no sooner than 15 minutes prior to their provided start time.  While waiting outside, physical distancing must be followed.   

• Please note - no parents will be allowed into the facility.

• Contact Tracing Sign-in - Each athlete will be subject to a COVID-19 health questionnaire before they enter the building. This will be administered verbally and documented on a tracking sheet.  Please note that if the answer to any of the questions is ‘yes’, the athlete cannot be allowed into the facility.  (please do not attend if showing signs of any Covid-19 symptoms).  For a copy of the questionnaire, please click here.

• Athletes must come ready – water bottle, court shoes, gym clothing (no change rooms are provided) – and make every attempt to minimize the amount of personal items.  Athletes should consider bringing enough water in the case that taps/water filling stations are not available. Each athlete should have hand wipes and hand sanitizer with them in addition to mask(s).

• We will hand sanitize every 30 minutes and sanitize the volleyballs minimum each hour and after each training session.

• All participants (athletes, coaches, club staff) will need to wear a mask.  Athletes will be informed when a mask is not required (during game activity).

• Physical distancing must be followed unless in a game activity.
